I just ate the last Newman's O cream filled chocolate cookie. There was only one left -- if there were more, I'd still be chewing. And that's the problem...if there are sweets in the house, I will eat them. Remove the treats, remove the temptation.
But today is Halloween. Which means candy, candy, candy, candy everywhere.
Sure, we can make healthy Halloween treats, but the exposure to the good bad stuff is still there.
I'm pregnant, so eating too much chocolate makes my twins go nuts in the womb. I'm staying away. But I'll still sneak in some treats. Anything with chocolate and peanut butter is my weakness. Ooh and Skittles!
But on this day, diets are broken, kids get tummy aches, cavities are made -- it can be pure overindulgence.
What will you be doing to make sure you and your family doesn't fill up on too many unhealthy treats? Or does everyone get a free pass for Halloween?

We're giving out pencils and stickers so if there is anything leftover we won't be able to eat it all. Our little man is too small to do any extensive trick or treating, so there probably won't be much coming in either. Should be ok. Plus, all the walking will do us good.
we buy candy we dont like! Well, the kids will eat anything.. but I keep it out of their reach. I cant stand most types of candy, so I just buy the kind I cant stand and problem solved!
I served fruit kabobs to my kids prior to going out trick or treating...then we are limiting the candy they can eat per day?? NOt sure how this is going to help my kids..but I think it is so much fun to go trick or treating and meet our neighbors. My goal will be to stay focused on brushing our teeth 2 times a day at least, taking our vitamins..serving healthy meals.
My kiddo is only three. She had one piece of candy on our way home from trick or treating (we drove to meet up with friends) and then she was allowed to pick two after dinner. Today she had two as potty rewards. I think I ate three mini candy bars. We just use it as treats/ rewards. That way it lasts a long time and we don't go overboard. We are also sending a lot of it to deployed hubby and his friends when we get mail drops.
