Avoid Germs With a Sanitary Door Handle

November 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM by Cafe Kim - Comments (4)

The H1N1 flu pandemic has everyone panicking about the spread of germs. And opportunistic entrepreneurs are cashing in on the action!

I, myself, am terrified of door handles in public restrooms—they're so unsanitary! Perhaps, that's why I think this new sanitary door handle is a great idea!

You open the door with your forearm instead of your hand, keeping your hands germ-free. It's certainly a less wasteful alternative to using a paper towel to cover the handle when you open the door.

Between this new door handle and the sleeve sneeze, our forearms will be getting a workout this flu season.

What do you think? Is the Sani-Handle a stupid or useful invention?

Too much for me.  I just open the door with a paper towel.

Kryst...

It's not a bad idea...but 1/2 the time I have my hands full with my toddler (and soon my new little one!) I do good to have a free finger to use to open the door!  I just carry hand sanitizer in my purse and diaper bag.  =)  Works just as well in my opinion.

RanaA...

Now... if someone sneezes into their forearm, opens the door, then you open the door and sneeze into YOUR forearm... you just defeated the whole purpose of this and put someone's germs against your face.

Dumb.
