Have you heard the Internet rumor about Cookie Monster giving up his cookies and turning into the Veggie Monster?
It's definitely an urban myth, but that's not stopping it from getting tons of attention this month as Sesame Street celebrates its 40th Anniversary.
The famous blue overeating Muppet isn't giving up cookies for good, but his recent shift to healthier eating habits had some moms up in arms...

I just ate the last Newman's O cream filled chocolate cookie. There was only one left -- if there were more, I'd still be chewing. And that's the problem...if there are sweets in the house, I will eat them. Remove the treats, remove the temptation.
But today is Halloween. Which means candy, candy, candy, candy everywhere.

I came across Caham and her gorgeous, sculpted arms in the Work It Out Sexy Mama Group. Turns out this mom of two from Illinois got that definition from working out at home with workout DVDs—can you believe it? Very impressive. I asked her to share the secret to her workout success...

I'm sure you've seen the "Smart Choices" nutrition label showing up in the grocery store aisles. It's the little green check mark label (click link to view) located at the bottom of several packaged and processed foods, which signifies to consumers that certain standards for calories per serving and fat content have been met.
The labeling program was intended to combat obesity by helping people make "smarter choices" about what they eat. But how are we supposed to make healthier choices when such items as sugar cereals (that are almost 50 percent sugar) and frozen ice pops have the Smart Choices label?

I just started watching The Biggest Loser this season, and I have to admit, I'm completely addicted. Last night's episode had trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels giving some great tips on how to order healthy food in a restaurant. Here's a re-cap of their wise weight-loss advice (don't worry, absolutely no spoilers here!):

I'm currently obsessed with Honest Ade drinks. I was drinking Superfruit Punch each morning but the deli I stop in ran out (probably because of me) and I've moved on to Pomegranate Blue. It's organic, "just a tad sweet" as they say, caffeine free, and has 200 mg of antioxidants. Only 12 grams of sugars -- and none of the bad stuff. Cafe Cynthia is even a fan and she knows her juices. It's very refreshing.
It's an expensive habit for me to buy them each morning at the deli ($1.75 per bottle), but it's so good. I need to buy in bulk somewhere because it's not heavy and syrupy like other pomegranate drinks I've had and well, it's not bad for me. Oh and the Blue is for a touch of blueberry. Of course I'd love to get some fresh pomegranate fruit and eat that, too. Maybe next grocery store run.
Health Central lists the many health benefits of pomegranates.

Just read this article on NutritionData about a new study that suggests eating yogurt might work as prevention against flu.
Hmmm, I think with this possibly grueling flu season we're facing, we can use all the help we can get.
