I laughed when I read this article about a woman who answered a text in the middle of having sex. But apparently texting during sex is more common that I thought: In fact, some studies suggest that one-fifth of us interrupt sex to read an email, take a call, or tweet.
Really, people? (Barring an emergency) what could possibly be so important?

I often get so stressed and overwhelmed thinking of all the stuff I have to get done each day, that I try to break up the time with daily mini mind vacations. Usually I play Latte Land, one of the other CafeMom games or daydream about a good memory, but today I stumbled across another diversion that was way more fun than my mortgage bill.
BettyPP posted this fun mind game in the CafeMom Newcomer's Club:

I always feel completely spoiled when it's just ME that I have to get ready in the morning, not me PLUS two additional little humans moving VEERRY SLLLOOOOWWWLY. On those rare days when my husband is home or goes in late, I can get myself showered, dressed, fed, make-uped, and out the door -- sometimes I even manage to empty the dishwasher -- in 30 minutes flat.
Otherwise, add another 40 minutes to the routine, helped by my son's dragging himself out of bed and lollygagging over his cereal. He takes about a bite a minute. It's not all his fault. He's not hungry the minute he gets up like I am. His pangs strike about 30 minutes later, usually on the ride to school. Cereal bars are great, just not everyday. I want him to eat a full-fledged, sit-down meal once in a while.

CafeMom friends tracies.beans, BoyOHBoy, and tess-n-co (carrie_grace not pictured)
When CafeMom carrie_grace wrote: "Had fun meeting some of my CafeMom friends yesterday!" on her status update, I was dying to know more.
Turns out, carrie_grace and three of her CafeMom friends, tess-n-co, tracies.beans, and BoyOHBoy, all got together in real life (IRL) and had a wonderful time.

This isn't meant to be a joke, but I know -- alone time?! Who has any of it?
But let's just say you do have some, or by some stroke of luck, you'll soon come into an hour or so all to yourself.
You deserve it...we all do....

My friend has a house in Woodstock, NY, and she's planning a weekend ladies only getaway, inviting some friends to spend a couple of days tubing, hiking, antiquing, and/or relaxing in her little cottage in the woods.
I'm so excited! I'm five months pregnant with twins and feel this may be one of the last times I get to do something like this in a long, long time. Plus, I need to breathe in some country air!
Here's the problem...it falls on the same weekend as my niece's second birthday.

Some people don't like their birthday. I'm not one of them...and I'm over 30! I love birthdays -- my own and other people's -- and I enjoy celebrating in some way even if it's just sharing some cupcakes with family.
Not liking to celebrate your birthday is called bonanniversairaphobia.
I am totally joking on that -- I just made it up.

I've had many diaries. The ones from my teenage years are hilarious when I read them now. Oh the worries of youth!
All my diaries today are online. I Journal here on CafeMom and also have two blogs where I write down thoughts and feelings. Granted, it's not the same thing as having a little book on the side of my bed where I write down some of my innermost and personal thoughts, but they have some grit sometimes and besides, I find it therapeutic.
