There's eBay, Craigslist, garage sales, and more—so many ways to sell your old stuff!
When it's out with old and in with new at your house (or even just out with the old), do you try to sell your stuff?
I have sold a few things on eBay over the years: gently worn maternity and post-maternity clothes, a coat, and once a pair of white heels (not sure what I was thinking). However, I have never sold any bigger items like dressers or tables or couches.
It's not that I'm opposed to selling. I love the idea that everything can be reused, and I refuse to throw most any reusable thing into the trash can. I guess I just don't have that much quality stuff to sell. :) I tend to give the boys' outgrown but usable clothes and gear to friends, family, or neighbors. The rest goes off to charity.
More than anything, I have to steer clear of eBay cause I usually find things I want to buy that far exceed the things I want to sell. I don't have much self control, what can I say?
+++ What about you? Do you sell used furniture or household items? Where do you sell? Has the money you've earned been worth it for you?

Yup - Ebay, Craigslist you name I probably sold it there LOL But will have to go & check out the pp's spot! Never seen that one! LOL I'm curently trying to figure out a place to sell my White Featherweight Sewing Machine :o)
Not yet, but I'm planning on it.
I started my Spring Cleaning and am setting up a pile of things to sell. [Usually I don't bother and just give things away on Freecycle.]
Everything else is going in the dumpster or Goodwill.
I've had Garage Sales & didn't do Well. I try to sell at A Antique Shop of my Friend's! I try to break even or make A little Nope! No Good Luck! Even if I confess my DH is Laid off & I don't have A paying Job. I say I'm needing money for my Daughter's Wedding, Baby Shower or my Cat's Spaying.. People Low Ball offer me Insulting prices B/C I really Need it! It makes me Sad... Just once I'd Love A Break & do Well!! I'm Happy for the ones of you that do Well!! And Believe me I have some Neat things, collectibles Etc..
We sell everything. LOL. We're not having anymore kids, so as soon as my dd grows out of something, its on craigslist, ebay or given to a friend.
i do, but mostly it is a big headache. i sell on craigslist, had my sons entire wardrobe for sale as a lot, 5 LARGE garbage bags full. i told the girl she could have them for 40.00 yet i had to drive 30 minutes to meet her, she complained that she had to wash the clothes (they have been in storage for about a year) so i think i am done selling! :) oh and never mind my kids naptime, it had to be before HER kids naptime. i have seen lots of like 20 pieces on there for 100.00 and i prob had hundreds! i was trying to give someone a break that didnt have much money and she pulls up in an acura suv and tried to make me go down on my price! i think next time i will try ebay!
I donate to our local thrift store that supports a battered women's shelter. I find it very rewarding.
I usually don't do Ebay or Craig's list. I take our old stuff to the base thrift shop (I live on an Air Force base) and either consign it or donate it as thrift items. It's a good way to clear out the house and help other military families get something for a great price.
