Sponsored Post: Are You a Clean Freak?

The following is a guest post from Hoover:

dustingSo there I was in my mother-in-law’s house. We were just stopping by with the kids—no biggie. Our baby’s pacifier falls out of her mouth and rolls onto the carpet. So I pick the pacie off the ground and to my HORROR, there’s a chunk of pet hair stuck to it that’s almost as big as my mother-in-law’s Chihuahua! I felt like I had to say something to her about the state of her carpets. Maybe it was a little harsh, but the lady needs to know, right? What would you have done in my situation?

My husband says I’m a freak of nature. We’ve got two small kids and I work from home, but I still make time every day to clean. First I dust, then I vacuum. That’s the way my mom taught me. Let’s just say she doesn’t have a dog’s worth of pet hair hiding in her carpets! I think the whole clean freak thing must be genetic. My sister’s the same exact way. Do you have a clean freak relative?

Oh, and don’t even get me started on vacuums. “HEPA,” “brush rolls,” “cyclonics”…I know all the lingo. When it was time to get our latest vac, I bet I spent more time researching it than I did my last car. Have you ever researched vacuums? Well, it was well worth it for me. That’s how I found my vacuum soulmate. This thing gets stuff out of the carpet that my old vacs must have been missing for years.

Now when I vacuum it’s like a stress reliever. Weird, right? There’s just something so satisfying about getting all the stuff out of the carpet and away from my family! Does anyone else feel the same way? Come on clean freaks, I know you’re out there!

I am a neatness freak but not a clean freak.  Many might disagree, but I think it's important for the home to be a bit 'earthy'.  I don't freak about mud on my floor, or dust on the TV.  I'll get to it sooner or later.

auror...

I vacuum daily...my DH calls me a freak of nature too.  I just CAN'T have a messy house, it makes me stressed.  Not to mention that my son literally eats anything that isn't nailed down so it's pretty important to keep the floors clean around here. Vacuuming and seeing the nice clean carpet is a big stress reliever for me, I will join you in freak-dom. ;)

OH girl...I am SO like you!

i work from home full-time.  I have 3 kids...one that is a preschooler, 2 teenagers.  I clean every day!  I cannot stand a messy or cluttered house.  Right now I cannot stop thinking about the stuff that needs to be done in the house but I am in a lot of pain today so I am laying on a heating pad & working instead of doing what I want to do....CLEAN!  Believe me....as soon as I feel I can get up of this heating pad...the cleaning will begin!

I'm a horrible cleaner.  I hate to clean, but I love the clean house look.  Ok, maybe it's not that I hate to clean, but I hate cleaning something and then 15 mins later it's a mess again.  I hate having to constantly clean, I like to be able to sit down for a few mins every once in a while.

I use the flylady system so my house almost cleans itself :) When my house is a mess, I can't think so I just do my routine every day so it stays pretty. My ADhD son even behaves better in a clean, organized environment. Less CHAOS (can't have anyone over syndrome) and more family fun. Less yelling and more cuddles :)

I am a prisoner of the dust bunnies.   They are so large, my vacuum is not strong enough to annihilate the buggers.   I think they might be rabid.   Send help.

Oh YAY a place for Clean Freaks to unite! I kid you not when I say I LOVE LOVE LOVE to clean/organizing. I am always looking for new and better products orways to clean/ organize things, lol!!! I too researched my vacuum as well as my hard floor cleaner (Steam Shark). My husband has a love hate relationship with my obsession with cleaning but he never complains when he comes home to a clean house or the fact that he can have someone stop by without being embarrassed by a mess. Our kids on the other hand think I am "insane in the membrain"  but I am sure they too will come to appreciate it with time. Thanks for making my obsession a bit more "normal".

Momma...

I was given one of these hoovers and I try to vacuum daily but I have to keep cleaning up after everyone so I can vacuum. It is a viscious cycle.

I have light blue carpet so I have to vacuum as much as I can because this ugly carpet shows everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. So I have to stay on top of all my cleaning just to make this house look decent.

Clean freaks unite! Well after I scrub down my kitchen then we can meet up for coffee.

fullo...

I vacuum about twice a week. Only because I go to my neighbors house to borrow there's. This is so sad, I can not even afford on of those cheap vacuums. Otherwise it would be everyday.
