Pretty enamored of these elegant window coverings, found on D*S — and they're do it yourself!

Textile artist chela edmunds used cut felt circles and a sewing machine to make this pretty window covering, which both lets light in and gives her a sense of privacy.

Click over for her how-to instructions.

Once you've figured it out, call me and I'll give you my window measurements. :)

I love it! It MAY be something I might try.. I don't know.. Not sure if it looks easy or hard, lol. The cutting of the circles looks exhausting!

Lumin...

it is... I have to cut felt circles to make my pincushion rings and I used to hand cut hundreds of petals for my broaches... felt is not easy to cut, and it dulls your scissors. I tried buying a sizzix machine and that helped but it will only cut 2-3 layers at a time.. so lets see.. that is about 11 circles by 25 circles... 275 circles to cut? Holy crap! Good job Chela... but no thanks! LOL. At least it would be economical, felts cheap!

So I guess this means no one's gonna make me one, huh? What if I cut out the circles? LOL. That I can do...

you could do it! It would take awhile but you wouldnt need a machine, you could just hand stitch them together at the edges instead of running the stitch the length of the row
