Owl Masks from Joseph Paul Johnston

Well, if it gets down to the wire on Halloween (and doesn't it always?), and you need a quickie costume, behold these lovely owl masks — a barn owl and a screech owl — from Joseph Paul Johnston.

Ladders can usually be found stuffed in the garage, between the toolbox and the trash cans. But believe it or not, they make for some pretty sweet storage solutions inside the home.

Instead of carving a Jack O' Lantern, I've been trying to talk my 6-year old into one of these adorable handmade pumpkins from Sea Pinks ($12), but he's not having it.

My son really really wants to "cut out a pumpkin and put fire in it."

*sigh* I guess there's no way out of this one...

Ready for a before and after?

I'm starting to decorate my twins' nursery and I am on a tight budget. Plus I like doing crafty things. So I decided to dig out old picture frames and do something exciting with them. Paint them in pop colors and put whimsical prints in them for the kids' walls.

If you don't have old frames lying around like I do, you can always pick some up cheap at a thrift store. And you can of course do this for any room in the house.
