Everyone likes something different on New Year's Eve. Some of us like to go out on the town, and others of us like to have family fun at home. Then there are those (me) who procrastinate making plans and then end up with no plans.
No matter what you're doing this New Year's Eve, tell us more about your plans in the comments below, especially if you have creative and fun ideas for an evening at home (cause I need some).

I took my Christmas tree down already. And so did tonisalex and several other CafeMoms over in The CafeMom Newcomers Club.
Glad I'm not the only one.

You got some nice gifts this holiday season, and nice gifts deserve a nice "Thank You." Here are some pretty Thank You Card Sets, all under $13.

Okay, I did awhile ago—before I knew about the aforementioned layoff (eh em). But I just couldn't resist this pretty handmade Butterfly Celebration Wreath from Royal Buffet. I plan to keep it up year-round (and then maybe to feed it to the kids when we go broke).

Were you as bad as me? Did you buy something for yourself in the season of giving? Or maybe you bought yourself something and put your husband's name on the gift tag? Oh, honey, you shouldn't have...

This holiday season has been rough for many here on CafeMom and beyond. And for those who haven't been directly "touched" by the poor economy, the fear and worry still looms heavy.
My husband was laid off earlier this month, and it's just starting to really hit us.

Kids vs. Christmas trees... Gosh, you might as well decorate your tree in toys. That's what imasurvivor did at her house.
With a two-year old in the house, I know we're currently finding ornaments strewn around every room in the house. And then there are the broken ones. Every. Day. Another. Broken. One. We even have a bowl for all the broken ones. My five-year old calls it the "ornament hospital."
Needless to say I loved this über kid-friendly Christmas tree idea from imasurvivor.

MrsPilat posted the question in Answers: "What did you get your parents for Christmas?" At this late date, she's having trouble coming up with the perfect present for Mom and Dad. Help her out with some good ideas. Maybe something for the home or garden?
And do share with us too. What'd you get or make for Mom and Dad this year. I made my parents (don't look, Mom & Dad) one of these for their garden, where they (and my kids) spend lots of time. It came out pretty cute.

$0.99 Botanical Print via Domino
These $1 gift ideas at Domino are great inspiration not only for last-minute holiday purchases but for year-round gift purchases. Look what great things Katy Elliott found just by thinking outside the box a little.
Maybe we can all change our perspective about what makes a great gift. Sometimes the best gifts are practical. Or simple. Or handmade. Or $1. We can all be inspired by these kinds of ideas.

Here's a good way to get your adult son home for the holidays. Threaten to make this Action Figure Holiday Wreath out of his beloved Star Wars collection (kept safely in your attic).
I'll probably be doing something similar with Schleich animals in about 15 years. Hee hee.
