Ultimate Wipes Warmer by Prince Lionheart, $19.11, amazon.com

I've found moms really split over this bit of baby gear -- I know many who said a wipes warmer was essential to cut down on middle-of-the-night baby screamage, but mine never made it out of the box it came in. Let's hear what you think about this potential registry item.

Item: Wipes Warmer

Cost: $15 - $30, depending on the model

What it does: Warms diaper wipes

Pros: Saves baby from the surprise jolt of a cold wipe on the tushie

Cons: Takes up space in the diaper changing area

What do you think?

Momon...

I have three little ones, we had a warmer.  Honestly it was a waste of money.  It was by the changing table, but I hadly ever changed any of them on the changing table.  It was easier to just change them on a receiving blanket where I was in the house.  And so the warmer just sat there, unless the baby had just had a bath and was being changed on the table.  Since they were already clean, a warm wipe was of no use.

I held the wipe in my hand for a sec before wiping to warm.  I have heard it encourages bacterial growth in the wipes.  That doesn't sound good.  I'll pass

I don't own one but I think they are kind of nice.  I can tell you my daughter does a slight jump when I wipe her with a cold wipe.  I even got her with one right from our car the day when I was rushing (I live in Ohio) oops!

Fallo...

I DIDN'T LIKE IT WITH MY 1ST BUT I HAVE IT W/ MY 2ND AND I LOVE AND AS FAR AS TAKING UP SPACE THEY MAKE A DIAPER CADDY THAT HANGS ON THE SIDE OF TABLE THAT IS MADE TO HOLD THE WARMER. SO I GIVE IT AN 8 OUT OF 10.

Heath...

I didnt use one with my 1st but had one with my 2nd and she really loved it. Mine was on the changing table and we used that table to this day and she is 2. The wiper warmer has since been passed down to another baby but yeah I liked it and she liked it. I dont think its a must have but babies do like the warm wipes vs cold ones. Spend your money on the diaper genie and refills, that you will need to hide the yucky diaper smell YUCK

lilms...

I think in the beginning they may useful because the wipes can be cold to some newborns, but I never had one.  I didnt think it was worth the money.  For all of that you can just dampen a washcloth with warm water to wipe their little tush.  As they get older they get used to it.

Tavie...

I have always thought these are a waste of money and unnecessary. I always just hold the wipe in my hand to warm it a little.

Warm, moist environment...great place fro growing nasty stuff.  Never used one, never will.  MY kids never had a problem with wipes right out of the box.

Isaia...

Truthfully, I never bought one.  But I do think it would be nice to have.  Kids hate diaper changes, and cold wipes don't help the problem.

woahm...

I have a wipe warmer now and the wipes get cold like right when you pull them out of the warmer so its a little annoying...
