Where to Find Inexpensive Maternity Clothes

I didn't love shopping for maternity clothes, and I put it off as long as possible. When I did finally acknowledge that I needed at least a few items to accommodate the expanding belly and bottom, I definitely didn't want to spend much money on them.
I've seen lots of conversation on CafeMom, too, about affordable maternity clothes. Here's a round-up of ideas from moms looking to dress the bump for less.
I never pay full price for anything. I have really good luck in the clearance section at Old Navy. -- vickwu

Destination Maternity and Motherhood Maternity both have good deals on clearance items. I also wear a lot of leggings and stuff I already had with elastic waists. -- danielp
I'm really frugal, so I just bought two belly bands and wore my regular clothes. I'm eight week postpartum and still in them, LOL! -- ssnelson26
Check Liz Lange for Target -- and look for the clearance racks. -- chillemi78
I really liked Gap maternity. I would go to Gap or Target, try on the clothes that I liked to get the right size, and then find it on eBay. -- jcsscfam5
Stop looking for MATERNITY. Go find longer, stretchy shirts. Peasant tops make great maternity shirts, too. If you find maternity, awesome, but look at regular clothes, too, and you'd be amazed by how many will work AND don't look like old lady clothes. -- RanaAurora

These places are all well and good...unless you are plus sized. I NEVER found anything on sale. I made it through both pregnancies with 2 pairs of maternity pants and 5 shirts. I wore my regular shirts for as long as I could because of the price of plus sized maternity clothing and the limited availability. I refuse to sell them in case I get pregnant again.
$10 is not "decent" or "cheap" for a maternity shirt. Now, you put that shirt on sale for $5, THEN you can call it cheap.
I was just about to give my advice, but saw you already put my advice in the post! Cool. :) I'm almost 23 weeks, and my own advice about not buying maternity but stretchy and long shirts is still holding true. In fact, the maternity shirts I DO have are not nearly as comfortable or long as the ones I bought that were not intended for maternity.
19 weeks, wearing long spaghetti straps under longer and stretchy tees, wearing a belly band over my pre-pregnancy jeans. Luckily, they were big on me before the pregnancy because my hips got wider FAST! I only have two pair of pre-preggo jeans that will go over them, the rest will probably sit in my closet for a year after the baby's born, lol. I've spent very little money and have a great wardrobe already! I spent $5 on my two spaghetti straps, and $7 a piece on my 3 long and stretchy baby doll style tees. They look great and show off my bump in such a cute manner!
Yep, RanaAurora, you're in there! Thanks for the smart advice! And thanks to all of the other moms, too, for sharing great ideas on how to get by without spending much, whether we're talking maternity clothes or creative ways of making do with regular pieces. :)
yea... i am home from work, 6 wks and counting til my little one arrives... and i must say hubby's pj pants/ sweats, and hubbys shirts do just fine for me! lol talk about CHEAP! but i do have 2 pair of maternity jeans from when i was prego with my 33 month old, and my own elastic band pants as well, so i can go in public not looking like i just rolled out of bed!

Has anyone checked out Wild Woman Maternity? They do have a wide range of prices and styles to choose from. The shirts I bought were stretchy and comfy and I'm still wearing them even after I had the baby! WildWomanMaternity
emommies.com!!! I found this site last night!! OMG there prices are amazing!! they are a consignment shop.. but geez I wish there were more or them!! I purchased a Mimi maternity silk sweater ( Im due in Dec) for $15!! Capri's $8!! 3/4 sleeve shirt from motherhood $5!! these are the prices I expect to pay, and will never buy maternity clothes anywhere else again! ( unless, of course I HAVE to have it! lol)

The only little bit of advice I can give moms that if you happen to be near a military base..check out their yard sale website, which you might have to search it, but most base areas have one..like i am at MCAS Cherry Point and so ours is cherrypointyardsales.com It is not made only more military families but that is who uses it a great deal..you can get a ton of stuff of there in great condition including maternity clothes for cheap..mostly cause we all dont keep it, want it or are moving and dont want to move it..
