Time for more on baby names, ladies. Here's one we haven't tackled before: gender-neutral baby names. Unisex names are popular, so let's look at a few and hear what your favorites are.
mom2b5-28-09 posted in Pregnancy that she's not finding out the sex of her baby and hasn't settled on a name yet, but wants it to be one that is gender-neutral. So far, the contenders are Taylor and Dakota, but she's looking for other ideas.
Here's what moms suggested:
-- Skylar
-- Jordan/Jordyn
-- Carson
-- Ashton
-- Cameron
-- Chase
-- Avery
-- Casey
-- Ryan/Ryanne
-- Jesse/Jessie
-- Tristan
-- Stevie
-- Brody
-- Sam
-- Riley

Which of these names do you like? What are some other gender-neutral names you'd recommend to moms searching for them?

See, most of those in my mind are very gender specific.
I doubt I'd ever pick a gender neutral name. As my pregnancy progresses I find myself attached to names that are more like my child's personality (or what I can determine of it so far) In the end I pick a name that fits my baby not just a name I picked out.
I know a guy names Jamie that I thought was soo cute. I also dated a guy named Kelsey. I think gender-neutral names are names that you'd really only give to one sex, but someone out there had to give it to the other because they liked it so much.
My son's name is Ryan, and I always considered his name very gender specific... I wouldnt name a girl that....
Well Blondie09, my DAUGHTERS name is Ryanne (and we pronounce it like Ryan). I think the name suits her but I know it's not for everyone. Although we do sometime get people mistaking her for a boy-because of the name and since she is only two and her hair isn't very long sometimes she can look boyish unless she is totally dressed like a girl.
My newborn daughter is called Reese- and that name can go eitherway too.
My daughters names are Bryse and Raeghan...both tradionally boys names (Brice/Bryce and Regan). I also like the names Aubreigh and Evynne (pronounced Evan) for girls.
Some of the names mentioned (like Chase, Carson, Ryan and Brody) seem more boyish in my mind, but the others seem to be gender neutral.
I have wanted to name my little girl Ryan since I was about oh 16...but it turns out...I married a man who has a brother ryan :( haha otherwise I so would.I LOVE that name
my little girls name is Addison and i know i have been told a few times that this name is a boys name but i loved it anyway
I left a comment like this under the actual name on Baby Name Finder here as well. However, My daughters name is Ryleigh. My husband picked it and the spelling, and it says on here that this form of spelling is for a boy. However, I love the way my daughters name looks everytime I write it, and to me if the parents get what they want out of the name that they choose and they are happy its not a matter of spelling sometimes.
I hear the Ryelie (Riley) is a boy name all the time. However, for my daughter I think the spelling looks more feminie. I love the fact that its different and could go either way.

My husband also decided to not find out and we ended up picking the name Quinn. Our little boy doesnt seem to mind its uni.
