Guest blog from Lucky magazine editor and CafeMom Meredith Rollins. She has a two-year-old son and is pregnant with her second, due in September.
My feeling about pregnancy is that you should be as all-natural/holistic/careful as possible. (Not that it has stopped me from self-tanning.) So I've been attempting to stick to organic beauty products; not just lotions and soaps, but also actual makeup: mascara, blush, lipstick, etc.
There are a surprising number of places to buy organic products, but I wanted to get an expert's take, so I asked Lucky senior beauty editor Cristina Mueller for her list. Here's what she told me:
1. Tarte Cheek Stain: All of Tarte Cosmetics is going green, and the cheek stain is far and away my favorite product from the line. I can't remember a time I didn't use it as my blush: it gives you a translucent, dewy flush that, to my mind, is infinitely more natural-looking than what you get with powder blush. And unlike more intense liquid stains, you can blend it out if you accidentally put on too much.

2. Kiehl's organic mascara: The organic mascara formula is famously tricky to get right -- for years I wanted to make the conversion from regular to organic, but never took the leap until this: It's lengthening, fattening, and extra-dark-and most importantly, it doesn't clump.
3. Yes To Carrots Lip Tint in Ready Red: I love that this whole line is organic and available in drugstores. I'm not big on super-glossy lips-this gives a nice rosiness, and it doubles as a moisturizing lip balm.
Are you an organic beauty product loving mama-to-be? What are your favorites?
