Me & Louie, my kitty baby
Today is my birthday! And this year I'm celebrating unlike any year before. As a first time mom-to-be of twins (32 weeks today), I have to say, my birthday isn't such a big deal to me this time. I'm more excited about my babies' birth day, which is coming up. Fast!
My husband wants to take me out to eat, but I'd almost rather stay home in my PJs and have him cook me some dinner.
My sister wants to take me for a pedicure, which I really need, but my feet are so swollen I'm not sure if I want anyone to touch them.
Ooh a massage would be nice, but how comfortable will I be on a massage table? Would I get too cold or too hot with my hormones the way they are?
Part of me wants to get my hair done -- I have so many greys and I could use a trim, but not sure if I'm up for sitting that long in a chair. And what if I hate my hair when it's done? I don't need to be feeling any less attractive than I do now.
I guess I'm just a little restless as I type this out, suffering from carpal tunnel, swollen hands, and three numb fingers.
But, really, this is the happiest birthday I have had so far. I'm going to have two babies soon...and the most amazing chapter in my life is about to start. I'm going to cheers my water on the rocks, eat some ice cream, and have a great day with daddy-to-be.
Update: My sister gave me a gift certificate for a prenatal massage and I have an appointment today!
Have you celebrated a birthday during pregnancy? How far along were you and how did you celebrate?

my birthday is 4 days before my due date... so it wil be extremely downplayed this year, not to mention it's on thanksgiving this year. i hate that. oh well. i'm just hoping that this baby girl gets her own birthday. my sister's is the 11th, my MIL's is the 23, mine is the 26th, i'm due on the 30th (which is my dad's bday) and my mom's bday is dec 5th. the odds aren't good. :)
oh and it sounds like you have a bad case of the "woe is me's" go get a pedicure, a massage AND get your hair done... you'll be feeling a lot better after that. and then let hubs take you to dinner! happy birthday!
Happy Birthday! Go for the pedicure and a prenatal massage. They can feel really, really lovely on a pregnant body.
first of all ... Happy Birthday, well i haven't celebrated during my birthday while pregnant until this time that is coming up this friday... yay me too, lol so far i have no clue what is going to happen specially sine being a mom i haven't gone out to celebrate my birthday by myself or friends, only a dinner with my mom and sister in law and kid on tote last year and then get upset at hubby because he came late and he wanted to take me out and he said it was too late!!! =-/ anyways, this year i haven't reminded him about it so i just don't know what he is planning or thinking. =( we'll see =-/
Happy Birthday & enjoy that prenatal massage! :) I never had the opportunity to get one when I was pregnant, so savor it for us both!
I celebrated my 26th birthday when I was 8 months pregnant with my son. My friends threw a surprise birthday party/baby shower for me; that was the first time in my life that anyone planned to surprise me with a party! I felt the same way you did, I was excited about my little boy's birthday and how that'd turn out instead of my own birthday. Thankfully, with the help of my friends & husband, they MADE me enjoy myself, reminding that for years to come, my birthday will take a bit of a backseat to Kingston's birthdays :)

I was never pregnant during my birthday but I have to say....don't feel unattractive woman! You are one of the most beautiful pregnant women I have ever seen! You look fantastic! I so hope you get a pedicure, you will be glad you did! Maybe it will make your feet feel better after having someone pamper them! I hope your day is awesome!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHELE!
