Celeb parents Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have fiiiiinally announced the name of their new baby daughter: Seraphina Rose Elizabeth. I think I love it -- what about you?
The name is Hebrew and means "burning fire" -- you can get similar names and variations from the Baby Name Finder. You can also see CafeMom moms who named their babies Seraphina (there are a few, so Jen's in good company!).
For a completely different take on baby names, check out Cafe Suzanne's post on Cruel Baby Names (Hellcity? wow, that's harsh....)
And tell me, what do you think of the new Garner/Affleck name?

Thanks to Ashlee Simpson's new progeny, Bronx Mowgli, we've been buzzing about celebrity baby names quite a bit around here recently. Two other (more popular) "B" names were just on my mind, though, because I realized two famous moms had kids sharing them -- both designer Stella McCartney and singer Melissa Etheridge have a Bailey and a Beckett.
What do you think of these baby names?

My friend Cafe Suzanne did a post asking moms what they thought of Ashlee Simpson's new baby's name -- Simpson and hubby Pete Wentz named their son Bronx Mowgli Wentz. So far (though to be fair, it's early in the game) moms aren't exactly loving it. But of course this is just the latest in a long line of, um, kind of "out there" celebrity baby names. Some other arguable offenders? Read on.

OK, maybe not an all-out frenzy, but some new parents around the world are bestowing the name Barack Obama -- all or part of it -- on their new babies in the post-election hubbub. Particularly parents in Kenya, Obama's ancestral homeland -- but a couple in Florida chose Obama, too, for their kid.
It's a distinctive choice -- and I'm guessing if you named your baby Obama chances are pretty good he'd be the only one in his Pre-K class. Would that be a good thing?
When it comes to baby names, do you say the more unusual the better, or do you prefer a more conventional choice?

As you all know by now, I'm obsessed with baby names -- that goes for celebrity baby names, too (that's not a celeb baby in the photo above, but she could be, don't you think?!).
Here's a quick look at what some stars have been naming their famous offspring lately.
