My husband and I went to visit my parents last weekend and we take the train an hour upstate to see them. We had just left the house and I realized I forgot something.
I forgot my pills, I told my hubs.
Which ones?
My birth control pills.
He laughed. Obviously I am not on birth control.
I mean my pregnancy pills, I stuttered. You know, my daily pill.
Your prenatals?
Sigh. Yes.
For the life of me I couldn't remember the words prenatal vitamins.

Some people keep track of their baby's kicks in the womb. With twins in my belly at 32 weeks, I am being kicked or punched almost all the time. Some doctors recommend jotting down the frequency as a way to monitor that everything is OK with baby.
In your third trimester, you should experience about 10 kicks an hour.

Me & Louie, my kitty baby
Today is my birthday! And this year I'm celebrating unlike any year before. As a first time mom-to-be of twins (32 weeks today), I have to say, my birthday isn't such a big deal to me this time. I'm more excited about my babies' birth day, which is coming up. Fast!
My husband wants to take me out to eat, but I'd almost rather stay home in my PJs and have him cook me some dinner.
My sister wants to take me for a pedicure, which I really need, but my feet are so swollen I'm not sure if I want anyone to touch them.

Me at 30 weeks pregnant with twins
I've done it, lots of CafeMoms do it, even famously did it. What is it? We all posed with our Demi Moore pregnant bellies exposed in a pubic forum.
I think it's so beautiful.
It's funny though. I posted this photo of myself on Facebook, full twin baby belly exposed, my husband said...wow, honey, you put a sexy photo up there.
I told him that I didn't think anyone would find it sexy except for him. And I'm so glad he still finds me sexy.

Me at 30 weeks pregnant with twins
My brother-in-law was in town for work last week and my husband and I got to have dinner with him. We haven't seen him since our wedding over a year ago, so it was great to catch up.
He asked if we were taking lots of fun pregnancy photos and then he told us that when his wife was pregnant, they loved to take "view from above" shots where you can see the baby belly and just the toes.
So we tried it!

My husband and I were trying to have a baby for months, so each month when my period was late, I'd want to take a pregnancy test right away. We spent a lot of money on pregnancy tests! I would always take it too soon because I was so anxious and then would waste another one a few days later.
But back in March, I remember having a stronger urge to take the test, even though hubs said to wait a few more days. I took it when he wasn't home and it instantly told me I was pregnant. I waited out the three minutes and yep, still pregnant.

My sonogram of my twins.
What cute little heads!
My twins, seven months in the womb, are already showing signs of what they like. I'm basing this on their reactions to what I eat and do, and how much they kick and respond.
I put together a list and I'm curious to see if the things they like now match with the things they like after they are born.

There's nothing like a first pregnancy that makes you think about death. I mean, I don't mean to be all doomsday, but I've thought more about my own mortality since becoming pregnant than ever before. I'm going to be a mom! My kids need me and oh how nice it would be for us to all live very long healthy lives together.
When my husband and I saw a piece on the news that babies born now can live to be 100, I thought great! That means I'll be 137 when I die if I live as long as my kids.

Me, Gretchen, and Jenn
at another friend's wedding in July
Most of my closest friends that I see on a daily basis do not have children. Key words there are "daily basis." The friends I have who do have kids I don't see as much, however a lot of them live further away from me as well.
It got me worried.
Are my relationships with my friends going to be affected the later I get in my pregnancy? Will they be affected even more once the babies arrive?

When you have baby, you'll say words like "poop," "breast," "diaper," "cry" and "sleep" about a million times a day. These words are short, easy to say, and self-explanatory for a reason: With a baby, you will no longer have the time or desire to consult a dictionary, or comb your hair.
During pregnancy, however, you're confronted with lots of long, medical-sounding words, most of which will leave you saying, "Huh?" (Except for the word episiotomy -- for some reason every pregnant woman knows what that means.)
So that you can prove to everyone how smart you are about this birthing thing, here's a list from Fit Pregnancy of some of the most common pregnancy terms that doctors and friends will bandy about in the coming months. These in particular definitely threw me ...
