New Eco-Friendly "Color Me" Playhouses

Color Me House cardboard color me rocket

I do love a cardboard playhouse (not an $89 cardboard playhouse, mind you...), and this new Color Me House and Color Me Rocket can turn into hours and hours of good creative fun for toddlers. Plus, it's low impact on the planet when they're done...

Children can color, paint, and decorate their own house ($39.95) or rocket ($49.95) and then climb inside and play! This would be a fun birthday party activity. Also, coming out in time for the holidays, the Color Me Barn and Color Me Castle.

All cardboard play structures are 100% recyclable, which is so much better for the planet than all the plastic toys we tend to collect and discard each year.

Find out more at Color Me House.

What do you think? Are these cool enough to buy or would you rather DIY your own playhouse from a cardboard box?

Its a cute idea. But I wouldn't pay $50 for it. I recently built my kid a cardboard pirate ship with free boxes from my husband's job. I could do the same with these ideas.

aww man.. its nice they are recycled but not nice enough for me to spend more money on them than the one I buy at Target (http://www.target.com/My-Very-Own-House/dp/B0002FQUHK/ref=sc_qi_detaillink) Its only 25.00.. it folds up and fits under the bed.. and its REALLY sturdy... it has to be to hold up to my kids. We have given two as gifts at friends parties and the kids went APESHIT over them, lol. This year we're giving our kids one of their own, they already know and cant wait! Keeps them busy for hours, and it keeps my DD from drawing on MY walls.

Boxes from the store are free. We'll probably stick with those, although I love the Target one.

The Target house looks good, especially since it folds up. Still, $25 for cardboard seems a bit steep.  I'd sooner get a pop-up tent or something like that. At least you can use those at the beach or elsewhere.

Actually, though I admit the cost is a bit of a deterent, I KNOW my toddler would absolutely love this! I would probably splurge on one for christmas for her. I had a cardboard house when I was a kid and oh how I loved it!

Now that is really cute.  With the economy I dont think ill pay 40.00. Ill just use boxes from my work or somthing, but I like the idea. :)
