Oh potty training... how I wish a little pee on the kiddie shoes was ALL we had to endure while we help our tots practice making potty-using perfect.
But yes, most toddlers are bound to have accidents while in training and, therefore, get pee on their wee shoes, as is being discussed in The CafeMom Newcomers Club thread: my dd had an accident on her shoes need advice.

Bumbo makes a good little baby seat, so is it safe to assume their new potty seat will be just as great?

When it comes to potty training, there is no one method that works for everyone.
Here are some potty training links:

What is it about toddlers? They're so funny. So silly. And sometimes even a little odd. And sheesh, they do such embarrassing things, and they don't even blush.
Well, I'm saving a few hilarious toddler tales for later when I need blackmail for a certain two future teen-aged boys.

Last night my cousin was telling me about a problem she's having with potty training her 3-year-old son: He has quickly learned to use the potty when he has to pee; but when it comes to poop, he refuses to go in the potty.
Have you experienced this with your toddler?

Gerber plastic training pants; 2 for $9
Tip #11: Ditch the diapers, use plastic pants over panties.
To help with messes, you can put plastic pants on top of the underwear I bought mine cheap at babybestbuy.com. It will hold in the mess very well!
You'll have to change her while she stands in the bathtub because the pee will all come out like a tidal wave, but it will keep your house dry! My son got so tired of being rinsed off in the bathroom after the tidal waves, I think that's why he was finally trained.

Lots of things are more lax in the summer -- schedules, clothing, bedtimes .... but what about personal care needs?
The other day at my mom's pool, my cousin's 6 year old son had to go and just whipped his pants down and started peeing on a corner of the lawn. Though I was a little taken aback (and a tad grossed out), I wasn't totally shocked.
He would have never dreamed of doing this had it been fall and certainly not winter.

Tip #10: Ask your tot to throw the diapers away.
The way I potty trained my little girl was I made HER throw all of her diapers away. I put her in big girl panties and gave her something to drink constantly. When she pee-peed on herself, I told her it was nasty and icky and by the end of the night she was going to the potty.
Within three days she was going all by herself and doing ALL of her business on the big girl potty. She never used a training potty, either.
