Toddlers acting out after starting preschool or pre-K is pretty common, but one CafeMom, NutFctryHedNut, is having a particularly hard time of it with her toddler daughter.
At pick-up, the little girl threw a fit because she didn't get to ride the bus with the other kids.
As she and her mom walked to the car, she ran into the street and ignored her mom's pleas to stop.
Returning home, she's whiny, rude, and won't listen.
Any of this sound familiar? It does to me. Exhaustion and hunger are never a good combo, and that's what most toddlers are after a long day at day care or preschool. Even children who are little angels for their teachers during the day seem to save it all up and take it out on their parents.
Here's how other CafeMoms have dealt with these behavior issues successfully:

What is it about toddlers? They're so funny. So silly. And sometimes even a little odd. And sheesh, they do such embarrassing things, and they don't even blush.
Well, I'm saving a few hilarious toddler tales for later when I need blackmail for a certain two future teen-aged boys.

Some churches or places of worship have nurseries that will watch your kids during the services. Others don't, or moms are forced to wrangle the wily youngsters themselves while their husband is signing in the choir or (if he's not the church-going type) at home.
On mother in Stay At Home Moms asked about this very problem the other day. She wants her 1 year old and 2 year old (who's training and making constant potty runs) to start coming to church more often, but her husband sings in the choir and can't help in the pew.
Have you always been dying to ask the other moms of toddlers in church, especially those with the kids who sit without saying a peep, if they get as stressed out as you do? Here's what they say about getting a toddler to behave during church:

My son started acting out the day he first met his baby sister at the hospital. He was not pleased. He became moody, beligerant, and uncooperative almost immediately.
It was obvious he was jealous and did it for attention, because for a toddler, attention equals love. He wanted to be sure that love wasn't going to get all sucked up by this crinkly little thing in my arms.
Every toddler reacts to a new sibling differently. Some accept it with open arms, but more often they turn envious. Some even act this way before the baby comes, as in the case of ConnorsMom03, who's expecting a girl in the fall. Her 2 year old son is morphing back into a infant.

A warning: If you are in a store and see a toddler having a meltdown, screaming fit, tantrum, whatever ... do not, I repeat, DO NOT approach the mom to give advice or offer help or -- goodness help you -- ask her to leave the store.
Because you will likely get a look like this at right.
Chances are you know this already. But in case you're still new at toddlerhood, to help hammer the point home, here's a sampling of some of responses you might get along with those daggers. Maybe you could print this out and post copies at all your favorite stores ...
-- It is in your best interest not to get involved. I will be already aggravated and some nosy person not minding their own business will send me over the edge.
-- I would knock you on your a** if you walked up and told me to leave the store. I don't have a problem with a child screaming in a store because I don't know the situation.

The toddler years are the perfect age to start teaching your kids manners and good habits. And MrsManners aka: Angela Pitrie, owner of the CM group Manners for the Modern Family and FamilyMannersMadeFun.com, is here to help.
No one expects toddlers to be perfectly behaved angels, but have your little ones crossed the line so many times that they could technically be called ... dare I say it ... total spoiled brats?
MrsManners is way too mannerly to use that term, but I'm not, so I'll take the blame. For some kids, there's just no other polite way to describe them.
Here are MrsManners' 10 Signs Your Toddler Is a Brat.

You be the judge. Who is right here -- the pediatrician or the mom:
The facts of the case:
You take your typical toddler to the pediatrician for his 3 year well-baby visit. The doctor makes you and your tyke wait an hour before calling you into the exam room.
By then, the 3 year old has had it. Exhausted. Bored. Frustrated. He refuses to let the nurse weigh him. Refuses to let her check his blood pressure. Tries to wiggle out of mom's hold. Pretty soon, it's a full-on tantrum.
Another more experienced nurse bearing toys and a latex glove balloon manages to calm the child down, and mom and the nurse agree to reschedule the appointment for another day. It's better this way, the mom thinks, because she needs some tranquility to talk to the doctor about controlling her son's tantrums, as well discuss as an unrelated dietary issue.
