  • This is my own recipe, so I'm iffy on the amounts...I'll try to "ballpark" it!
    2 lbs. ground hamburger
    2 packets of taco seasoning
    1 can of black beans
    1 can kidney beans
    1 jar of tomato sauce
    1 jar of salsa
    1 med. onion, diced
1 pepper, diced (green, red, or orange)
apprx. 1/2 cup of jalepeno peppers, sliced or diced

Brown meat in skillet, add peppers, onions & seasoning, add remaining ingredients, cover & simmer for 1/2 hour - 1 hr. (I also make jalepeno corn bread to go with the chili)

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
    1/2 cup chopped onion
1 envelope (1 3/4 ounces) chili seasoning mix
    1/2 cup water
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, undrained
    1 tablespoon brown sugar
Heat oil in a large, heavy skillet. Cook ground beef and onions over medium heat until it is no longer pink. Stir in chili seasoning mix, then add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve with cornbread or crackers.
