  • I do have a cricuit expression which is the biggest one. The cartridges can be a little expensive but Michaels did have them on sale on Thanksgiving for $30.00. The suggested retail is $90.00 but I have found them between 40.00 and 60.00. I have not used it a lot but will be this weekend for a scrapbook convention. If you are just getting into scrapbooking I am not sure if you would want to invest in one right away. I have also heard that there is suppose to be a new one coming out so you might want to see what additional features will be included in the new model and if nothing else you might be able to get it a little cheaper. I love to make my own die cuts but still find that I do still purchase some for special pages. Hope this helps.

  • They are fabulous machines. It makes a die cut, fairly detailed, depending on the complexity of the templates that come with it. It can save you money in the long run if you purchase these at the craft stores, you can use almost all you paper this way and really make the page look professionally artistic.
The only thing better is a program that ties to your computer that you can send to a die cut machine.
    I love scrapbooking

  • I love mine! but honestly, make sure you like scrapbooking before spending the money on it. wouldn't want to spend that kind of $ on something you decide later you don't like.

  • I agree with the poster above me. I bought one, and while I really like it, I definitely don't utilize it as much as I could. I would ask around and see if anyone has one you could use or try out. I know a local scrapbooking store in my area has them for their crops and you can try it out there. Also, if you do decide to buy one, you might want to check Craigslist or something like that in case someone has one they are selling for less money.

  • I love my cricut machine! I have the smaller one but its great! You have to shell out some serious money to get one and get started though.

  • I saw an infomercial for the expression. I would really like to get one for my quilting to cut applique peices. I also do a little scrapbooking and lots of photography. I could see it coming in very handy for all three. About how much does one cost?

  • Is there anything like it that hooks up to a computer to download shapes?

  • I would wait to shell out that much money on a cricut until you decide if you are really interested in scrapping or not. Even without purchasing this machine, scrapbooking can be a very expensive hobby, and time consuming.
