When can you take a newborn baby out in public?

i took my daughter out at 3 weeks but my daughters were born in the summer time i would have waited alot longer if the weather wasnt nice.

I took my sons both to church when they were 3 to 4 weks old. I figured it was never too early to start.

One time I saw someone bring their baby into the grocery store, on the way home from the hospital. Just think of all of the germs floating around in there. Gross.

Probably 2 weeks with the older one, and 3 weeks with the twins.

I took my son out at 3 weeks just to the movie store cause i was bored to tears with court tv

i took my babies out when i got out of the hospital, all three of them......didnt really even hesitate about it, i just wouldnt let people hold them or touch them and some got offended but i dont care....i think the more you harbor them and keep them always indoors the more they are pron to get sick because they are not used to it, sun light does the body wonders and keeping your baby always bundled up can help harbor germs for most germs need heat to grow....but i think it really comes down to when you are comfortable enough to get out and about and take your baby out...

11 days, I needed to Christmas shop

I don't remember how old, but she went to outpatient at the hospital for beli tests so I figured if she could handle that, the grocery store would be OK. we went to look at day cares with her at her 4 week appointment. She started day care at 8 weeks. She was out side with the neighbors a little bit during the first week b/c of the jaundice. Germs aren't too bad, just gotta be smart about it.

As soon as we came home from the hospital. And like tarapatton, I wouldn't let anyone touch them. I think you should be out and about if only for your own mental health. Fresh air, even if it is frigid like now, does wonders for your mood and health. As long as the baby is dressed for the weather, there is no reason not too. I would end up with cabin fever if I wasn't able to leave the house everyday.

I took them all out for the first time when they were 12 hours old. I left the hospital and took them shopping.

1 week. We went to Red Lobster. She never even woke up. She was in her carrier with a cover.
