What can I expect from a vaginal ultrasound?

How many of you have had this and can youtell me more about it. I hear it is super clear and a awesome way to see baby in early pregnancy? What about discomfort etc??? Can they still take pictures that way ?? Thanks Ladies!!!!

I had one but it was because we were trying to get an accurate due date. He was still just a little lima bean so I can't tell you how clear they are. But it was very comfy... like a dildo... with cold lube...

It's not that bad, If you had sex... you can handle it! LOL. Sorry but it's true, it's just a skinny thing, so ya know what i'm saying....
Anyways, it is a very good way to see the baby in early pregnancy and if early enough, it's the only way

its done by the same type of machine and honestly in early pregnancy you will think you are looking at a lima bean on screan LOL not much to see till your 20week u/s. Dependong on how far you are you can atleast see the tiny heart beating away though.
Its not uncomfortble and yes they can take a picture and print it out for you.

I had one early in my pregnancy and it was not uncomfortable at all (physically anyway!) They put a condom on a long ultrasound probe and insert it. Then as it is moved around, it shows the scans just like a reg ultrasound. I don't remember getting any pics because it was so early. Nothing to be concerned about, really.

I had one with both of mine! My second looked like a little bunny rabbit!

My nurse put a condom on the machine....it didnt hurt at all!

You are so excited about seeing the baby you really dont really care anyways!

I had the v.u/s every week for the first 8 weeks and then regular u/s every 2 weeks thereafter (high risk pregnancy). It's a little uncomfortable. It is a great way to see the heartbead early in the pregnancy, but the picture is not very clear. I have ones ranging from a little blob to a gummy bear. I didn't get any clear pictures until the regular ultrasound.

Depends if you have a sadist doing your transvaginal US. I have had many done and it is a long wand (think dildo-ish) inserted into the vagina. If the tech is rough, it will hurt. I had a tech that I told when she was done, she should of bought me flowers. Not to be graphic, it was a medical rape via US. If the tech is skilled, it is a simple proceedure. Good luck.
