What are good diapers to use for girls?

When I was pregnant w/ my son, I was told that huggies are good for boys, so thats what I always used. I was also told that pampers were good for girls. Just not sure how true this is? I'm 19 wks pregnant w/ a girl and would like to start buying some and wanted to make sure. Thanks.

  • Depends on what kind of diapers you want. I've found with my daughter, even though i love target diapers, i couldn't use them because she'd leak through them too fast. Depends on if you want the expensive ones or the cheap ones. I love pampers and huggies but choose to go the cheapest way to concerve money. I buy parents choice (walmart brand) and they have a really good padding.

  • Why not use cloth? They are good for boys and girls. If you havn't looked into the new cloth diapers, go ahead and do a search! They are just like sposies with velcro tabs and built in waterproof layers, you just wash them.

  • I don't mind buying the cheaper brand, but if I do, I want make sure that I'm getting a brand that doesn't leak. Especially if I'm stocking up on them.

  • I have always used Pampers on my daughter. They seem to work well for her. I think I might check into the cloth now though.

  • I would advice against "stocking up" on diapers. The reason I say this is because I stocked up on diapers before my son was born only to find that the brand I bought gave him a rash and turned his bottom red! I had to give them all away and buy new ones. I use Pampers because they are the only ones good enough for his sensitive skin. Make sure you don't have sensitive little girl before you stock up something that might irritate her skin :)

  • I buy a huge box at one time and go from there. With my 1st one i got to try every brand because i had so many diapers from the baby shower. I'd say try a box or small package to see what you like the best and then if you want to stock up then go from there.

  • We've always used Pampers Swaddlers and Pampers Cruisers for both our kids. They seem to be working well for our daughter and son.

  • It depends on their age. I love LUVS when my kids are past like 9 months but before that age they always seem to leak through them. I usually used Huggies or Pampers when they were infants. I loved the Pampers swaddlers for the first few months. After that I would buy what was cheap and expirament to see what worked and didn't.

  • I adored the Huggies Supreme newborn for both my kids when they were born (boy and girl). I buy a pack for every baby shower. My daughter had more success keeping it all contained than he did. My son used to leak out of the top all the time. Funny how much difference it makes whether you see a hot dog or a hamburger bun on the sonogram.
