Digital vs. Paper...which is better for scrapbooking?

I don't see the point. Why do digital instead of regular?

  • i dont either... i think the PHYSICAL scrapbooks re so much better. Prettier, and just... cooler! lol you can make them more 3-D and you can add dimension and touch to them...

  • Thanks ladies! I'm curious to hear from somebody that does digital scrapbooking. And Angie, I know what you mean about staying up all night! It's the only free time! LOL. Digital doesn't seem like it would be that much less time consuming, I mean, I think it would just be a little bit quicker because you don't have to adhere things. I just think it's less creative, and seems silly!

  • I agree. I mean, dont get me wrong, I go to photobucket.com and use thier scrapbook page for my myspace so family and friends can see and THAT right there can be time consuming. But it doesnt have the special touch of your creativity! The scrapbook was made by someone else and all I did was add the pictures LOL

Oh and its an expensive hobby too LOL But I'm addicted to scrapbooking. You can get a lof of cool scrapbooking stuff at Target in thier dollar bens and watch for clearanced stuff at Walmart!

  • I perfer the hands on but a couiple of years ago i got a program for the digital and didn't care for it. I think if you don't have a lot of time or money the digital way is the best way to go. I don't have a lot of either so i do it in stride.

  • I've been doing digital scrapbooking for almost 3 years now (I own a digital scrapbooking group here at CM). I do it mainly because it's about a million times cheaper and there is no mess. With 4 kids I can't afford even basic paper supplies and wouldn't have the time or space to do them, especially without the kids getting into everything.
The first year I did digital I didn't pay for a single kit. I only used free stuff and the photo editing program I already have. In the last year I started buying kits and still have only spent maybe $100 and you can use that stuff over and over and over again. It's fast, easy, no mess and the pages look gorgeous when they are printed. Those are my reasons.

  • there are a few reasons -
#1 WAY CHEAPER! I can download a freebie kit and keep reusing it as much as I want where as if I buy a pack of stickers, they are gone and I have to buy more.
    #2 NO MESS
#3 Can reuse photos instead of only having one or 2 copies of a print
#4 can print duplicates of a page to give to multiple people, where as with traditional you can only make 1 page, even if you try to duplicate it, it won't be the same.

did I mention WAY CHEAPER! LOL

maybe people don't like digital because it takes a little more knowledge to do it and more creativity... my 2 year old can use scissors... it takes someone with intelligence to work a computer program like adobe photoshop
