How long can you store cooked chicken in the freezer?

  • Yes. Wrap very well (as you would anything to avoid freezer burn.) Three months would be tops for best quality, they would keep longer but maybe better for soup. I'd take the meat off the bone and freeze just the meat. You could then cook up the bones if you wanted for stock. But freezing just the meat, in meal-sized portions, would make future meals much simpler.

  • Generally the longest I keep them in there is 2 months, but I have friends that keep them up to 3 and half.
