How big were your babies and did their births require an episiotomy or did you tear?

my lil one was only 6lbs, and yep I had a 3rd degree tear. She came out with her little hand on her head which is what made me tear. ugh, so glad i'm all healed up now it was awful.

8lbs 9oz....started to tear forward, so she did an episiotomy.

9lbs 5oz....slight tear, 3 stitches I think

7lbs (36 weeker)...no tear or anything.

1) 7 pounds (21 inches)... no tearing, no episiotomy
2) 7 pounds, 6 ounces (19 inches)... no tearing, no episiotomy
3) 6 pounds, 1 ounce (19 inches)... no tearing, no episiotomy
(all three were waterbirths with midwife at a birth center)

8 pounds 11 oz tore from cervix to rectum... his head was 13cm
on my second baby haven't had him yet but ultrasound said over 8 lbs so i am worried i am going to tear again and this time i am not going to have a epi..

I had an episiotomy with both... My kids were 9lbs 8ozs and 8lbs 4ozs... Episiotomys are just automatic with most hospitals anymore. Ther aren't any big deal though. It's better than tearing would be...

10lbs 4 oz--only a little minute tear.

7lbs, 1 oz and I tore a little bit. I didn't even know I had torn til the doc was stiching me up.
