  • I have done it without one, but there was something they gave me through an IV that helped out alot, can't remember what it was though, deffinetly not morphine.

  • I went natural and would highly reccomend it. The pain was not nearly as bad as I anticipated. Just remember that the pain will stop and you will have a beautiful baby to show for it. It was such a accomplishment for me, but it also is not for everyone. See how things go and decide along the way.

  • Nope sorry but my sister actually had an epidural and it DIDNT work so she had natural childbirth and while she looked like she was in plenty of pain during her delivery she's getting ready for her second and I asked if she was scared to do it natural again and she says no so...but anyhow we were made for this so I have no doubt if thats what u want you can do it. Good luck!

  • I did. I wanted a safe option for myself & child & natural was it. The pain is temporary, the risks of drugs were too much. I researched relaxation techniques & had a great support person (my husband) Trust your body to do it's job, stay relaxed & know that you can do it. The high afterwards is amazing & incredible.

  • I had a natural birth. It is totally achievable. If you are birthing in a hospital it is going to be hard, because they will ask you when you are at your weakest moment and hound you that you need a break from the pain, etc. etc. You need to research why you don't want an epidural and be sure to have someone with you that will help you and back you up. I would really suggest hiring a doula. They are wonderful for support and coping with whatever comes up.

  • I was induced and never got an epidural. You don't need a high pain tolerance to handle birth, it's pain with a purpose and a beautiful purpose! it's totally different then cutting yourself, or breaking something.. it's an amazing and empowering and beautiful feeling.

It all is how you labor too. the earlier you go to the hospital the less likely you will achieve a natural birth. If you want a truly natural birth look into your birthing options, read "birthing from within" or "the birth book".
