  • It will raise the possibility of a c-section.

  • It can resort to a c-section but I was induced at 38 weeks and everything went really good with no harm to me or my baby.

  • I was induced twice and the deliveries went fine:) There are dangers with or without induction so why worry about them?

There are a lot of "dr.s" on CM, that think you should stay pregnant until the baby wants to come out IDK they might have a better explanation for you.

  • I wanted to add that I was also induced at 39 weeks (for no real reason) and everything went smoothly for me and my baby girl. I didn't have a c-section. Good Luck!!!!

  • It usually means if the baby is not ready to come and you don't go in to labor after a long, long time after they give you the pitocin (the medicine that induces you) then they will have to give you a C section to get the baby out.
In your case at 42 weeks it's a good possibility you will go in to labor when they induce you so don't stress over it.

  • There are a lot of people who say you should wait until baby is ready. It does increase the chances of a c-sec. I was induced 2 days after my due date for no real reason other my dr. suggested it and i said "ok". I was in labor for 4 hours and everything was fine. Don't worry too much about it. Do what you feel is right!

  • I am a mother of 4 and with my last one I was unfortuantely induced. I have the problem with being induced because it caused my only child out of 4 to get jaundice. Which means more trips to the hospital when you get out and more expensive let alone something that physically caused something wrong with my child(something minor in her case) but nonetheless it could have been prevented. i would walk until the ambulance would have to come pick me up and carry me to the hospital before I would ever get induced again (which I hope is never b/c we are done having children)LOL

    Get to walkin girlfriend!!!LOL:)

  • I was induced at 39 weeks. The delivery was just fine. Inducing is a way for the doctors to have more control over your delivery. If they know you're in labour then they can be better prepared for it.
