Can I give my 3-month-old baby solid food?
He's only 3 months and I know it says to wait until 6 months to introduce solids, but after eating a full 8 ounce bottle he still acts like he wants more. I don't want to risk him developing food allergies, but he never seems satisfied. Any advice?

add a little rice cereal to his bottle, it makes him fuller.....helped with my colicky son, he also had an 8 ounce bottle and was still hungry so i added a little rice cereal..
just enough to make it alittle thicker just make sure he can get it out of the nipple hole!!
i would wait onthe baby food in jars, i did until my sonwas about 4 months and then slowly introduced baby food, then by 5 months old he was eating a jar a day, now at 8 months he eats 3 #2 jars plus real fruit....
talk to your doc, but ultimatly you have the final say....my advice is add cereal to his bottle..
If you want to spoon feed, add some formula to some cereal just enough to make it thick then spoon feed i would say about a tablespoon or two to start with..Votes up:0 Votes down:0

No. Give him another bottle or something. Some doctors say that at 4 months they you can give them cereal, but my doctor said wait till 6 months.Votes up:0 Votes down:0

no, he's way too young. have you tried putting a little rice cereal in his bottle to thicken it, not much, like 1-2 teaspoonsVotes up:0 Votes down:0

I started giving my daughter some rice cereal in her night bottle at 3 months. Like smwoods just a couple tsp. You may want to check with your doctor just incase.Votes up:0 Votes down:0

i would give him rice cereal, all kids are different, if he is a healthy weight and really hungry feed the child...Votes up:0 Votes down:0

i gave my daughter solids at 3 months cause no matter what i did she was still hungry but now my soon to be ex husband is trying to use that in court against me but i still say that it was the best for her and she doesnt have any food allergiesVotes up:0 Votes down:0

My son acted this way and we found that he wasn't necessarily hungry, he just wanted to continue sucking on something. Against our will we introduced a pacifier and it has worked wonderfully. If he cries after eating we give him the pacifier and he immediately calms down. If he is still hungry, he will spit it out and we feed him more. He is 8 months old so he is eating stage 3 gerbers, formula, and occassional finger snacks).Votes up:0 Votes down:0

I know the doctors say to wait to introduce solids until 4-6 months, but to introduce them earlier if you think its needed. try putting a little rice cerial in his bottle. I started my son on rice cerial in his bottles at 2 months cause he'de eat constantly. my doctor said it was fine. then i started him on solids(pureed veggies and fruit)at 3 months, doc also said it was fine because he was developed enough to have it.
if your son can hold up his head, moved head/mouth towards the bottle it might be worth trying feeding him purreed foods. every doctor has a different opinion, but basically its your son, you are with him more than anyone else and know what he needs better than anyone else. Our parents gave us babyfood earlier than 4 months and for the most part we dont have a problem do we.Votes up:0 Votes down:0
