  • I'm sorry to hear that you lost your house. Fortunately, we haven't been affected at all, except that our stock portfolio is in the toilet...but it'll come back up. Same with my husband's 401(K). He's in an industry that isn't really affected by a poor economy.

  • SOOO sorry to hear that.
Not really. Our area is stable (as it can be) and my dh is a teacher so his job is stable and I just started working again this year so we acutally have more income than we normally do.

The only thing that really affects us is grocery prices and gas prices.

  • No, I haven't and I'm very thankful for that. I know things can change in an instant. I'm very sorry you lost your home.

But, you won't get pity on this site. I expect women will come out in droves to say, "You deserved it", "That's what you get for being greedy," and a host of other nasty comments - anonymously of course...

If not, I'll will be very surprised.

  • Well, dh lost his job in Nov 2007 right before the start of the recession. And he started his own business in Dec 2007. We're starting his 2nd year in business and I hope he can bring in more $$ this tax season (he's a CPA). I lost my job in April and then the job I got after that I lost in Nov. And yeah, because of all that we are in foreclosure. We're working with the bank on loan modification, but who knows. My dad almost lost his job, but I swear they only kept him on because they didn't want an age discrimination suit. But my dad's going to retire next year anyway.

  • Oh, and in case anyone would want to bash, we could more than afford our house before dh lost his job, and were actually able to hold onto it for a year before we could no longer make payments like we used to. We are hoping his business will do much better this year so we can stay in our house.
