Can I help stimulate the economy by shopping?

CNN just tells you what they want the public to know. LOL For real, though......how about hte economy was up 3.1% overall last year. Now, did CNN announce that, probably not.

Our GDP just fell for the second quarter in a row. That is not an economy that is up by any stretch of the most stoned imagination.

The economy dropped the last quarter of the year last year, but not the first three......and to add to my stoned imagination, we are better off if you are looking at the numbers (which aren't true most of the time anyways probably in my opinion) than we were in 2001 and looking even farther back, in 1982 the economy was worse off then than it is now. I'm not saying we are in good shape, I believe we are possibly headed for a depression. If not an entire colapse of the world's economy, it's not just in the USA. The whole world is in trouble....and if we experience a natural disaster here that affects crop production, most of the third wold countries will fail and that will be a domino effect of many problems....famine, more economic hardships, more wars, etc etc etc. Things are not good.

My spending habits haven't changed in the least.

If I had the money to spend then I would be spending it. Unfortunatly, there isn't a lot of extra left over to spend after bills, groceries and gas.

i plan on spending a little bit of our tax return...on the medical bills from having our DD. we dont really have money to go out buying crap we dont really need.

IF I WAS TO EVER GET ONE I WOULD BUY FOOOOOOOOOD AND MORE FOOOOD!!! I WOULD PLUG UP MY FREEZER AND FILL IT UP! I WOULD BUY A HOTTUB AND PUT IN MY BACKYARD! I WOULD HELP THE GIRL I KNOW WHO NEEDS HELP WITH HER BILL THAT I FEEL SORRY FOR! I WOULD GO ON A CHEAP VACATION CAUSE WE NEED IT! I WOULD HAVE SURGURY ON MY FOOT KNOWING THERE WOULD BE FOOD FOR MY FAMILY AND I COULD REST AND HEAL! I WOULD TAKE MY DOGS TO THE VET AND GET THEIR SHOTS AND WORMED! I WOULD BUY VITAMINS FOR US AND THE DOGS! I WOULD GO TO THE COLLEGE AND GET CHEAP STUFF DONE TO ME,NAILS,HAIR,ECT. I- HEAR ME NOW, I WOULD GO OUT AND EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND TAKE MY TIME AND GET ALL THE LITTLE BUTTER AND LEMONS AND ROLLS AND A BIG ,BIG MARGARITA! WORKGOAT - ahhhhh, so beautifully said. How sad that those are luxuries. But in reality, what we already have would be luxuries for others!

But I agree - what money are we exactly to spend?? Maybe they should talk to power/phone/water companies, see if they'll gift us some bills and I'll go shopping.
