  • try to apply through your bank, or with a guarantor, or ask someone you know with descent credit to add you as a user, you'll have to give that person your ssn to give the credit card company so they can report credit history-then you can just leech off the other person's credit history.

  • Start with revolving credit. Department stores. Get one, pay off the balance each month. Good luck.

  • I have bad credit too, and I know that department stores often wont approve you. Well i dont have BAD credit per se, but I do have a high debt to income ratio showing (because we own a house but we had another company take over payments but it still shows in our name). Capitol one will most likely approve you for a card, but their interest rates suck, and they tend to charge fees that shouldn't be charged so be careful with them.

  • A credit card is all fine and dandy- but maybe you should try to repair your credit score by getting out of debt before getting another credit card.
