  • annoymous it is actually told by DOCTORS to not just stop because the effects could be worse if you end up starting again in the middle of pregnancy stop being stupid and if you want to be hateful then go else where grow up ...
as for the OP i never have smoked but my mother did with all of us and we were and are very healthy the only thing was my 16 year old sister was 3 months early but that was not from the smoking it was from complications the placenta started to tear from the wall so they had to do a csection on her other then that we were all over due and very healthy babies and are still healthy to this day

  • My mom smoked with all of her pregnancies, and she never attempted to cut back. All of her children were born with respiratory issues. While not serious, had she not smoked we all would have been a lot healthier, and all of us, except her first child, were born below average in birth weight.

  • I didn't smoke my first pregnancy--barfed every time I even smelled somebody else's smoke! With my second I smoked 3-4 cigarettes a day throughout. Children are 32 and 26 years old. Never had any allergies or asthma, not even colds till they were over 3 years old. I would say smoking didn't affect them whatsoever.

  • I smoked with my son. I smoked maybe 6-7 cig a day. I had him 6 wks early and he was in the NICU for 2wks he couldnt breath on his own and he could suck. He was GOOD weight to be that early though he was 6lbs 5oz. The doc said it had nothing to do with me smoking. My water just broke. With my girls I stopped at around 3m each time and they both stay in til 38wks and 1day. and were both 8lbs 3ozs.

  • I quit when i found out i was pregnant. I felt it was extremely selfish to smoke when smoking could potentially cause health problems. I wanted my baby to be as healthy as I could make him. making excuses like "well it didn't hurt so and so's kids" is a cheaters way out. If you did end up smoking and there IS a health problem linked to smoking... I hope you would feel responsible and not make any other excuses or try to defend yourself.

  • ya know what- i love how quickly moms on here can judge people. yep anon im talkin about you. So what you didnt smoke in your pregnacy! OMG SOMEONE THROW THIS WOMAN A FREAKIN COOKIE!! i did smoke with my son and he is perfectly healthy. you may not have smoked with your kids but are you teaching them to be AS JUDGEMENTAL AS YOU?? it pisses me off on so many levels when MOTHERS on here judge situations that they know nothing about. and by the way just so you know-my son is very well taken care of. there hasnt been nor will there be any child abuse here. thank you very freaking much!!!
