How can I organize my pantry?

I have a very slim door ( I hate it) and the shelves are ok I guess alittle roomy if the door was wider it will be fine and I can not put a bigger door because there is not enough space so either way I'm screwed.

I pretty much know what I have in there but just curious what do you have in your pantry? I mean like for example the cans how do you put them in there to where you are able to tell what they are instead of shuffling through? Thanks

  • Simple stack them and always have the labels facing the front where you can see them. That works for me.

  • thats what i do too. in rows, i stack them, labels facing forward, usally about three fit in a stack, and then I just make rows of the stacks. It works wonders for me, ecspecially when im in a hurry GL

  • We have the same narrowness and it sucks. I put everything in the front on the top shelves as I am shorty-mcshort pants and we have a back-up pantry in the garage for canned/boxed stuff. I've tried having shelves for certain items (never quite works) but we do pretty successfully rebox stuff into plastic containers which saves space.

  • I have my cans stacked with labels front facing and arranged alphabetically, same with my spices, all arranged alphabetically. All cereals are together arranged by size and dry items like pastas, rice and beans are all put into stacking plastic containers so they stay neat. All my paper products like paper towel, napkins, plates, cups, plastic wrap, foil etc are all on the top shelf.
