What age is appropriate for a first date?

Kids today are dating at an earlier age. Earlier meaning before they even drive (parents have to drop them off). At what age do you think kids are able to handle dating?

  • 16 - mostly group dates only

    17 - more solo dating

Either way their first date is at our dinner table.

  • It depends on what kind of "date" you are talking, a group of friends where they call each other boy/girl friend, maybe freshman years, but all out this is who I am with serious relationship out by ourselves at least 16-17

  • Not before 16. There is no need before that. I don't think kids are emotionally ready before then.

  • group dating at 14 and (chaperoned) dates at 16. That's how it was for me. My husbands best friend or my best friend used to go on our dates with us it helps you focus more on getting to know each other.
