  • I learned when I was young, but I don't think your feeling of isolation is limited to 20 or even 30 somethings. I'm mid 40's and I don't know very many people who crochet or sew or knit. My age group seems to be into scrapbooking.

I think it has to do with how hurried we are now days. People don't just sit and take time for things like crochet.

  • My church has lessons in both on Mon. On Wed. night at church everyone does it! You get a bag and put everything in it and leave it in the car, then when you go to the Dr. office you pull it out while wating. We make alot of boggins with buttons on them that say differant things and keep the buttons pinned on the bag, then come winter we give them to the homeless! We have a quilting class also with alot of sewing machines and swap patterns, we donate them to the homeless also. On Wed. night we feed the homeless so we know who needs them and most of the time we take it to them under bridges and such and check on them! We have 46 members!

  • Well, I'm 27 and I crochet...not sure if that's young enough ;) There is a crochet group I'm a member of with lots of ladies and there are young moms there too. Search the groups and see if you can find something you like :)

  • I'm 25 and I love to crochet! I can knit simple flat straight things (scarves) but mostly I like to crochet hats and baby blankets and little things. I've always felt lonely too because I say I'm an old lady at heart. Everyone else parties and goes out drinking but I'd much rather be baking or doing crafts, lol. I even have a love of little old lady sweaters and hankies. I guess as long as I don't start wearing a plastic bonnet when it rains I'm still sane enough.

  • I pick it up off and on, knitting and crocheting. I have since I was 8 and my mom taught me. We went through a stage for a few years where we made nothing but cotton floss doilies, but now I stick to more normal stuff - afghans and baby clothes.

  • I crochet off and on. I will make ornaments for Christmas gifts and sometimes more if I have the time. The price of yarn has really went up, I think that is why people are not doing it as much.
