  • The first time, It was controlled b/c i was in the surgery room (jic they had to do an emergency c-section). The second time I was so drugged that I had no control. The room was full of family, and I was so pissed when I found out. I felt pretty violated.

  • Well make sure you can have more than a couple if your planning a party!
I only had my hubby, and hospital staff.
But I think it's upto four.
But that really depends on your hospitals rules.
I think if you want lots of people in there, than go for it.
    Nothing wrong with that.
It's all what your comfortable with.

  • well that really depends on how many your comfortable with and how many the hospital will let in the room. i only wanted my hubby there. Also, never let anyone pressure you into letting them in, if you don't want them there tell them to get or have you hubby do it. people tried coming into my room and i told to get out and they completely understood they weren't mad at me or if they were they got over it once they saw the precious little one i was holding, and then they never held it against me or anything. so to answer you question, lol, i thought 2 was a crowd, and my hospital only let one person in anyway.

  • I went to my hospital orientation this past week... when we got to see the labor and delivery rooms they told us that some women have their whole family in the room! They also told us that for every extra person you have in the room(not including doc and nurses) add 30 more min to your delivery!! They said because so many people are in there already it's hard for your body to be as relaxed as possible! Think about it, your laying there with your legs spred wide open and then you have all these people in there!!! or walking in and out the whole time!!!! lol... I am just going to stick with having my husband and mother in there with me....

    hope this helps... good luck!!!

  • I would do whatever you are comfortable with, and double check the hospital rules wherever you're going to be delivering at. Just don't let anyone pressure or "guilt" you into letting them into the delivery room if you aren't comfortable. It's your body and especially if this is #1 for you, it's a special time. Talk to your husband too because sometimes they really want to just share the special moment between the two of you. I considered having my mother in the delivery room, but chose not to because my husband really wanted to share the moment with just he and I and after much thought, I agreed and loved the thought he had put into his request.

  • The hospital I delivered at said it was totally up to me as long as the doc had room to do what she needed to do. I had my mom, his mom and my cousin in the room and it was my first. For the next one it will only be my mom because my son didn't breathe right away and people were freaking me out!

  • I planned on just my DH but he was somewhat ill at the time (long story!) and my mom stayed with me too. He held my hand (that's about all he could do!) and she fed me ice chips.

  • My first delivery, I was allowed as many as I wanted, but when it came time I really didn't want everyone watching me in pain. I wanted my hubby and my own mommy. It felt much more special with just them. And of course when I had trouble at the end, it didn't freak out the entire family, just them.
