Have you heard about the swine flu epidemic?

I heard on the radio it started in China, now its in Mexico and New York. A class at a New York public school went on a field trip and they came back with the disease and had to be quarantine. They are saying its airborne.

  • Right now it's just an oubreak. It's not an epidemic, and certainly not a pandemic. However, it has a tract indicative of what may end up being the first pandemic in 40 years. I'll wait and watch. However, I am concerned. My husband is daily in a population of illegal immigrants who frequently cross the border. I worry for him and I worry about exposing myself and my child. Especially since I was hoping to get pregnant again this summer. Concerned, but not at freak out.

  • It is scary but no one in America has died from it...they've all recovered. I imagine that's because the health care here is better than in Mexico.
