What can I do if I have been diagnosed with low amniotic fluid?

i got a ultrasound on Tue. and they called me on Wed. and said i i had low fluid level and that i needed to have another ultrasound done i went in today and they said it was at 8 and needed to be higher and i had a non-stess test done..that went fine but the doctor wants me to come back again tomorrow for another ultrasound to see if it has gone up and to do another non-stess test..what we will they do if it hasnt gone up?

  • I was told to lay on my left side as much as possible and to stay laying down as much as possible

  • i had the same problem with first child, had a million non stress tests and was put on bed rest. If your close enuf to due date and fluid dont go back up they might talk about inducing!

  • lay on your side. stay in bed or sitting most of the time. so strenuous activity and drink alot of water!!!! thats the most important. WATER

  • Keep hydrated and off of your feet. Low amniotic fluid can be very dangerous for the baby.

  • I've had 6 babies. out of those I had 4 w/ low fluid. once i was put in the hospital and had iv. it helped for a bit but not very long. I had to be induced with 3 of the 4...two of them (my 2nd and my last baby) were a month early because of it. I had way too many ultrasounds to count and many non stress tests.

  • I had the same problem with my first child. My doctor admitted me into the hospital to make sure i was staying in bed and i had an IV all day and all night until i left 3 days later. FUN

  • I was diagnosed with no fluid at 5 months and taken to vancouver for a termination of my baby , i drank pints of warm water and when i went down there i was fine and gave birth to a healthy 8 pound perfect child. rest and drink drink drink
