  • We used stickers and just good old praise, hugs, kisses, dancing around the room, excitement, etc.

When they did not make it, we didn't punish them, nor make a big deal out of it, but we went crazy when they did go, calling relatives sending out emails, IMing Daddy at work, dancing, just total excitement!

That's what worked for us....They loved all the attention they got when they went so it made them go more.... remember attention is attention at that age....it doesn't matter if it's positive or negative, if they get attention they will do it. :)

  • we are using stickers. I set a timer each hour..if he is clean and dry and pottys in the toilet he gets a sticker. When he earns 10 stickers he gets a 'prize' Mostly Hot Wheels cars, a book, usually something under 3 dollars. It seems to be working pretty good. Oh, If he tells us he has to go potty and the timer isn't going off, and he does potty he gets two stickers.

  • I use chocolate! Can't beat chocolate. I sometimes give them a gold sticker. Last night i was so embarrassed. My little boy hollered out that he had to peepee in church.

  • With my oldest, we used M&M's. He got one for every successful "potty" in the toilet. With my second, he peed just fine in the toilet but wouldn't poo. We gave him a dum-dum sucker everytime he went #2 and it worked great! My youngest hasn't really started potty training yet but she's close (2 yrs).

  • My son is almost 15 months and is thrilled with the potty! Its so weird, but awesome :) Its so cute, he gets so excited and trembles with joy after he goes and I show him the pee and/or poop in his potty chair. He even holds still for Mommy to wipe him, then we wash our hands together! LOL

  • my daughter could have cared less about stickers and candy (although I would have used them for sure if it worked!) For her, she just loved flushing the potty and I told her she couldn't flush unless she had gone potty in the potty first...apparently flushing is its own reward :) lol

  • I did. they are 2 & 4 now and potty trained (though I have to help them sometimes)

I let them have a couple (3-5) mini m&ms (siblings got one too, for encouraging one another on in potty training, sometimes mommy did, too LOL!) and got to put a sticker of their choice onto a piece of paper that was hanging in the bathroom.
