  • I would buy her a Wii . In addition to the workouts, her playing can be a workout as well. All of the other things are very good too. PLEASE KEEP REMINDING HER HOW BEAUTIFUL SHE IS!!!

  • I am starting a WALKING CHALLENGE in a weight loss group I belong to. I am inviting anyone who is SERIOUS about losing weight to sign up. The actual challenge will not start until September 15th. If we get enough moms to join, we will vote to see if we are dividing into teams or not. This will not take more than 30-40 minutes a day, and is basically just incorporating a workout routine into a walking routine. It is going to blast fat away - fast. It is a THREE WEEK challenge. Please sign up if you are interested! :)

  • I also have a 9 year old daughter that struggles with her weight, and it's also belly weight. I am working with her to help her lose the weight as well....so, if you want to message me anytime for support...to support each other or exchange ideas, I'm totally up for that :-)

  • Hi- thank you for all the responses! I need to make an appointment with her doctor, but its pretty clear she needs to lose weight. She is larger than her friends and its mostly in her belly, which I know is the worst place to gain. These are good ideas, and they have made me realize that really its me who needs to change and bring her along. I am guilty as well of not exercising enough. When I try to get her to exercise with me though, its just a battle- she hates anything physical. I guess I just need to keep trying until I find something she likes to do. She did just start a dance class that she really likes, and she wants to do swim team, but that won't start until next year. Again, thanks everyone! Keep the advice coming- I do appreciate the input!!

  • P.S. My 13 year old nephew had a weight prob, and this is what they did for him. The whole family is doing so well on the program! The kids all go for walks outside and are having a blast on bikes and climbing trees!

  • cut out her sweets and take her for walks, bike rides, anything to help her excercise. but whe will also loose weight when she hits junior high and they implement excercise classes. I got chubby from 4-6 grade but in 7th lost it all and was healthy b/c of gym class

  • Take all the junk food out of the house and start a mommy and me exercise program. Go for walks with your kid and go to the park. Limit the video game and tv time.
