  • As hard as it is...dont give him an option to eat the junk. He will eat when he is hungry. Make healthy chicken nuggets yourself, give him carrots puree to dip in. Hide veggies in you speghetti sauce...chop them super fine or use the food processor. Try the fruit smoothies as a treat. Bake sweet potato chips together...get him involved with shopping by color and let him help fix dinner too...and yes even at two he can help you out. Oh switched to fish nuggets at one point and they didnt know...and try maybe shrimp or even do pork chops as little stips to dip. We called them dino toes and they loved it! make it fun, cut out shapes. Yes it takes time to do this kind of stuff but if you give them better choices...they will do it. If you keep a house full of junk food thats what they are going to eat.

  • There are a couple of great books on the market that teach you to hide veggies in common dishes. One is The Sneaky Chef and the other is Deceptively Delicious. They should have some good ideas for you :)

  • Kids will eat whatever you put in front of them when they get hungry enough. He's only eating chicken nuggets because that's all you're giving him. Don't give him a choice, either he eats what you put in front of him or he's hungry. He'll eat strained spinach if he gets hungry enough.

  • I make one dinner/lunch and if they don't eat it, no snacks. My boys are not toddlers anymore, but have done this since they were babies. We've had a few trying meals, but they usually run smoothly. I try to make things they like but you cant please everyone. And if they don't like something, I only give them a small amount. They have learned to suck it up and eat carrots. One of their favs is Greenbeans with ital dressing. I don't try to sneak them nutritious food. Its too time consuming for me and I want them to get used to eating good food. Not brownies because they don't realize there is spinach in them. They eat what they are given and if they don't, they will next time. I know it sounds kind of tough, but it worked for me.

  • Make a bit of a game of it, do not puts lots of pressure. Toddlers jaws get tired of chewing so present 1 tbsp of veggies at a time. Be creative, have fun and remember no child will reallt starve themselves. Young children do get into food jags where they only want to eat a couplke of food for a period of time. As long as he is growing, healthy, do nto dweel on this. Anyway you can hide vegetables in his diet will not hurt.

  • If you do not have junk at the house and do not stop at McDonald's, he cannot eat it. It will be hard, but you can do it! My favorite thing to make for my son right now is 'fauxtatoes'. Cauliflower that looks (and tastes close to) mashed potatoes. There are a ton of ways to make veggies 'cool' :)

  • Vitamins (gummy ones) and let them eat what they will. Sometimes kids will eat good one day and not eat a whole lot the next. It what they get over a period of a week that important, eventually they will eat the health stuff just keep offering it. I'm always amazed how she can hate something one day and the next eat the whole thing.Gd Luck.
