  • A good side could be rice. Esp. if you bought Jasmine Rice. It is sooo good.

  • I haven't tried this yet, but an acquaintance told me to put the tilapia in some foil and pour some spaghetti sauce on it, wrap it all up in a package in the foil and cook it on the grill. He swears its the most delicious meal ever.

  • Cashew-Crusted Tilapia
    2 (5- to 6-oz.) tilapia fillets
    Flour for dusting
2 eggs, beaten with 2 Tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups finely ground cashews
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup Jamaican Rum Butter Sauce (see note)
1 Tablespoons each, finely minced: red, green and yellow bell pepper
    2 Tablespoons sliced green onions
Dust fish with flour. Dip into beaten egg. Coat with nuts.
Heat oil in skillet. Pan-fry fillets 3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Mix peppers and onions for a confetti topping.
Top fish with Jamaican rum butter. Sprinkle with topping.
Jamaican rum butter: Split 1/2 of a vanilla bean and place in pan. Add 1/4 cup each white and dark rum. Stir in pinch saffron, 1 tablespoon lime juice, 1/4 of a minced habanero and 1 tablespoon sugar. Simmer 10 minutes. Sauce will break down if heat is too hot. Remove pan from heat. Stir in 1/2 pound cold butter, cut in pieces. Allow each piece to mel

  • I would serve this with rice and steamed broccoli or roasted asparagus
    Talapia
    2 eggs
    2 tablespoon milk
    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 tilapia fillets approx 5 ounces each
Combine egg and milk. In a separate bowl, combine Parmesan cheese and flour. (You can add a little salt & pepper) Dip fillets in egg mixture, then coat with cheese mixture. drizzle with olive oil. Place on a baking sheet coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork or pan fry in a little bit of vegetable oil
You can also put the tilapia on a pan. Sprinkle with Italian flavored breadcrumbs (I put a good bit), Parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Put a couple of pats of butter in the pan and drizzle fish with olive oil and bake at 350 until done. I broil at the last minute to brown the topping.

  • 1. Bring 1 inch of water to a boil in a large saucepan. Put asparagus in a steamer basket, place in the pan, cover and steam until tender-crisp, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a large plate, spreading out to cool.
    2. Combine chili powder, garlic powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt on a plate. Dredge fillets in the spice mixture to coat. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the fish and cook until just opaque in the center, gently turning halfway, 5 to 7 minutes total. Divide among 4 plates. Immediately add lemon juice, the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt and asparagus to the pan and cook, stirring constantly, until the asparagus is coated and heated through, about 2 minutes. Serve the asparagus with the fish.

  • i'd probably serve this with a simply baked potato or brown rice with veggies...cooking the fish this way it has lots of flavor!
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese,1/4 cup butter, softened,3 tablespoons mayonnaise,2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice,1/4 teaspoon dried basil,1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper,1/8 teaspoon onion powder,1/8 teaspoon celery salt,2 pounds tilapia fillets
Preheat your oven's broiler. Grease a broiling pan or line pan with aluminum foil.In a small bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, butter, mayonnaise and lemon juice. Season with dried basil, pepper, onion powder and celery salt. Mix well and set aside. Arrange fillets in a single layer on the prepared pan. Broil a few inches from the heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Flip the fillets over and broil for a couple more minutes. Remove the fillets from the oven and cover them with the Parmesan cheese mixture on the top side. Broil for 2 more minutes or until the topping is browned and fish flakes easily with a fork.
