How often do you bathe your toddler?

I do bathe him but when he's dirty and I'm talking really dirty!!! I'm not sure if I need to bathe him every night (like my neighboors do with their little girl) or if every once in awhile is good for a 2 year old. It's not like he runs around stinking I don't let him get that bad. I was just woundering what other mothers did and what your thoughts where? Thanks for the Advice!! :)

  • You can bathe him as often as you want. We give our son a bath 6 times a week... but it's FUN for him, and he'll tell us that it's bath time. If you want to give your son one every other night, that would be OK too. Just keep his hands, face & privates clean on days when you don't bathe him & you'll be OK!

  • I bathe mine every night (17 months) but we have done that as part of a bed time routine since birth. I don't wash his hair every night, but recently I have had to because he has been getting filthy every day! I would say at least every 3-4 days would be enough as long as his hands and face stay washed and he wasn't filthy. Kids don't have the hormones coming out when they sweat so they don't generally smell very bad.

  • Depends on you son. I bvathed my boys every night. My granddaughter I can bathe every night. My grandson no more frequently than every 3 days if possible. He has horrendous eczema. Bathing removes the natural oils from your skin. As a general rule of thum..I would say at least every 3 days. I could never have let my boys go that long there wouldn't have been enough water and washcloths in the state to get akk the grunge off them.

  • The summertime I bathe my kids everynight because they play outside alot and get dirty but in the winter I bathe them every other night. They don;t get to go out much and don't get as dirty or sweaty.

  • We do it just about every night because it is part of the bedtime routine. They love it, and it keeps them happy (where sometimes without the bath, around bedtime, they are so tired, they get cranky).

  • I bathe my 23 month old every other nite. He has excema so he can't stay in the tub real long cause the water irritates his skin. Unless if he was playing outside or got dirty from eating or something then I bathe him then too.

  • i have always given my daughter a bath every single day..only the odd time i skip a day, and usually its only when im not feeling good..or if we come home late from somewhere..i dont do it all the time because she stinks..i do it as part of a routine as well..i find that it just calms her down, relaxes her and gets her ready for bedtime

  • I try to bathe my daughter every other night. When her feet stink, she definitely gets a bath. When I can't put a comb or brush through her hair, she gets a bath. Also, baths before bed time help her go down for the night. When she's having a hard time getting to sleep and nothing's worked, she gets a bath.
