  • She changes it herself at 21 months?!?! My daughter is almost 3 and she still can't really put her pull-ups on by herself. I've been doing the "on her own time" thing and it is taking forever. She'll sit on the potty but sometimes I can't tell if she's actually done anything or not. Of course if I ask her, she'll say that she did. She refuses to poop on the potty. When she's pooping in her pull-ups she'll go hide and yell at us to leave her alone if we get too close. I never though potty training would be this hard...

  • Just take it slow and follow her cues. Around 18 months is when I bought both my daughter and son a baby potty, let them sit on it with their clothes on, and never force them to sit on it or else that will freak them out. It's not too early to go buy some training pants (NOT PULLUPS!!) and let her wear them and feel like a big girl!

Remember, they still have tiny bladders, so don't really push sleeping through naps or the night right now. My son (age 25 months) sometimes still pees in his nap or overnight, but that's it.

Good luck, and don't get stressed over it! Make it an awesome experience for both of you! And keep in mind, you will have to clean up pee! And poo!

  • We did naked potty training. I paid attention to when she got a drink and about 15 minutes after she got ehr drink she had to sit on the potty sometimes she peed and sometimes she didn't. If you catch her peeing put her on the potty really fast and remind her thats where she goes potty. Its hard to train with clothes on so, thats why we do the naked thing. In our house everyone gets excited when the youngest goes in the potty so, its like a party with everyone clapping and hollaring! Don't expect her to be able to go poo in the potty like pee because that is a little harder to control. My daughter was pee trained for 8 months and still had no2 accidents. And she still goes to be with a pullup sometimes she wets it sometimes she doesn't. Good Luck.

  • We did the naked thing for our son...out in the back yard in the spring. He loved to shoot his pee gun! But I guess you can't do that for a girl.

  • For my eldest child, he was the easiest of all my children to potty train. I started potty training him at 18 months in the middle of the night. I would actually wake him from his sleep and make him walk to the potty. I would already have his favorite cartoon playing in the bathroom. He cried all the way to the potty but I kept reminding him. The sooner he did his thing, we could go back to bed. He'd pee and we'd clap and go back to bed. During the day when he would go to the potty. We would reward him with popsicles and stickers. He only took one week to train. He's 5 now and has never peed in the bed.

  • My other baby is 2 1/2 and we have been working on the potty training thing. I have not taken the same approach with him as I did with Elijah. I am going with the he'll let you know method. I just want to say. This is a very slow process because it's on his time. Marcus actually knows when he has to pee and release his bowels but he is stubborn. I'm looking for some suggestions for a stubborn child
