  • Anything you used when you were pregnant. loritadine is safe, and it is an allergy medication that can help dry up your snotty nose.

  • My daughters pediatrician (who is on the national board of the La Leche League)told me that I could take what ever over the counter medicine I wanted while I was sick with a cold and nursing.

  • I would avoid things like sudafed, many moms have noticed milk supply issues. I don't agree with taking anything, unless you absolutely have to. I use all natural remedies, and a saline solution to clear my nose, and it works wonders for me.

I was really sick and ended up using afran nasal spray and Tylenol cough and cold pm though.

  • I would stick with any of the Tylenol (or generic) cold remedies.

  • I always take Triaminic Cold & Allergy. It works wonders for me!It's meant for children, so it's not as bad as regular cold medicine, plus it tastes a heck of a lot better!

  • None. ANything you take for a cold is going to dry up your head, and in turn will decrease your milk supply slightly. I would do a steam bath and use a humidifier.

  • Call the pediatricians office before taking anything. They have a list of what is ok and what is not, and trust me it's way longer than the one for a pregnant woman. I asked about advil cold and sinus because sudafed wasn't working for me and they said it was fine. If you ask at your next visit they may even give you a copy of the list.
