Should I get a flu shot for my baby?

I would like to know your thoughts on the flu shot for babies. My son is 9 months and I'm undecided on getting him the flu shot. My husband who gets them, used to get sick everytime he got one. I"m nervous to let my son have one. Wouldn't he have the flu symptoms?

  • I got it for my son last week; he had RSV in March and is in daycare. It's been almost a week and he's shown no side effects. You need to talk to your doctor- there are too many varying opinions here.

  • My daughter got the flu shot last year when she was almost a year old and she was fine. She comes to work with me every day and is around a lot of people. The flu can be very serious. I felt like it was a good idea for her because of that. It is up to you to decide what to do for your child. You will find many moms on here on both sides of this issue so you really have to make the decision for yourself.

  • I have a 2 1/2 year old and he has not had a flu shot yet and he hasn't had the flu either.I am trying to decide myself if he needs it this year or not,but I don't think I will let them do it.I don't want him to get sick from the shot.

  • No, the flu shot is one of the most useless and worthless vaccines on the market. They guess one year in advance which of the 3 strains of flu to put in the vaccine and they NEVER have guessed correctly. There are so many stairs of flu that is going around they never know which one it will be. The best way to keep your baby healthy is nursing. If you are formula feeding I would add probiotics to it and look into vitamin C as in the form of absorbic acid.

  • I would definitely question the safety of giving a nine month old a flu shot. There are other natural ways to boost his/her immunity.

Here is what happened to my DS:
