What can I do about insomnia?

I have self diagnosed pregnancy related insomnia. I simply cannot sleep through the night and the problems related to insomnia snowball through the day. I can't concentrate and function 100%. I am open to natural ideas more but am willing to take pregnancy safe medications if they are proven effective. Any ideas?

  • yes!! sleepy time tea is a must!! also, it may help to be really comfortable.. like maybe take a bath before so you are nice and fresh and calm... then make some hot tea with lemon :)... the best kind of tea to make you calm down and sleep is minty chamomile and lemony.... you can also try eating chicken soup maybe.. (it if sounds appealing during your pregnancy lol) it might fill your stomach and and soothes the soul. :) good luck.. and im going to try this tonight because i have problems sleeping too lol...

  • check with your doctor...but my doctor was okay with tylenol Pm or just straight benadryl.

  • I really thought that I was the only one who struggled with being up constantly during pregnancy. I did use chamomile tea and warm milk it helps to a point. The best thing that I did was relaxation techniques like yoga and deep breathing exercises. I tried to look at the positive side...I was fully prepared to be up every 2 hours with the new baby. hope ya get some rest.
