  • omg!! i wish i would only have to be in labor for 20 minutes! i have heard about ppl in my family being labor for like 33 hours, which even if u have an epidural, u have to be at the hospital which sounds extremely boring. i dont think ur second one could come any faster than that consider urself lucky

  • Is there anyway you could plan on a homebirth next time? It might be safer. Although there is no guarantee that the second will come faster, especially when your first was that fast! My first was about 24 hours, my second was about 12, but because I was comparing it to the first, I didn't go to the hospital right away, it picked up really fast all of a sudden and I barely made it to the hospital, she was born a half hour after I walked in the door, and I spent a lot of that time waiting in the waiting room and waiting in triage to be checked out!

  • oh yea the second comes faster... if anything you could discuss inducing at 38 weeks to be safe so that way you could schedule things a little better and not have the worry of rushing to the hospital with your first born half strapped into the carseat and half not lol. -Sincerely Cyndi 'D

  • well the problem with that idea is she was born at 36 weeks and i dont think docs would induce that early.....she was perfectly healthy and full term....they were off on the due dates but i didnt even have any warning signs i was in labor....i just woke up to a soaked bed, and then my water completly broke....my husband is not really comfortable with the idea of a home birth either.
